Apache Band
The Apache Band is open to all students who qualify by audition. The band program as a whole performs at a large number of campus, athletic, and community events. The Apache Marching Band is the most visible element of the band program at Tyler Junior College. Its primary role is performing at football games, parades and exhibition performances at high schools and marching band contests. There are plentiful scholarships available for all interested students who qualify by audition (Prospective member link). Three different levels of Concert Bands are available by audition for the spring semester. All members of the Apache Marching Band rotate in performing in the Apache Spirit Pep Band at selected home games at least once a week in the spring semester. The Jazz Ensembles and Percussion Ensembles are select groups of students chosen by audition to play various genres of music in many unique and different settings. As a member of one of our ensembles you will participate in one of the most exciting and diverse organizations at TJC, taking advantage of musical and social opportunities unparalleled in any other college activity. If you would enjoy performing great music in a non-competitive atmosphere where you can create life-long friendships, then the Apache Band program is for you. We hope you will consider adding your musical talents to one of the most exciting junior college band programs in the nation!
